Recently Facebook announced it’s new feature – Facebook embedded posts. You can read more about it on a recent AllFacebook post, Facebook Begins Rollout of Embedded Posts.
In a nutshell, you can now grab the code from a post and place it on another platform, such as your blog, for people to Like and Follow. So cool!
Note: If you do not have this feature available yet, be patient. In keeping with Facebook’s MO, they will be rolling out this feature over a course of time. But once you get this new feature available, just visit the Facebook’s Developers Blog for instructions.
And in keeping with my MO, my first thought is how can I use this to expand my business. I don’t need another toy to play with – but networking and lead-generation building strategies I’ll take any day!
Here is what I find to be very exciting -
When embedded, posts can include pictures, videos, hashtags and other content. People can also like and share the post directly from the embed.
What does this mean for you? Simply you can embed your posts or other content posted on Facebook right into your blog which can potentially do the following:
- Increase your Likes
- Increase engagement on your post
- People can share your posts which will increase your EdgeRank
- Increase the viral potential of your videos
- Expand your brand
- Your readers can follow other conversations using the hashtags you’ve posted
… All great ways to not only bump up your Facebook presence but increase engagement right on your blog which in itself has many benefits.
Some Ideas …
So let’s say you posted an update on Facebook that got tons of engagement. You can now take that conversation and expand it onto your blog and refer to the Facebook update not only for a visual but to ideally further increase the engagement via your blog. Your blog visitors may not necessarily interact with your Facebook page on a regular basis; therefore this will give them opportunity to do so.
Maybe you’re launching a new program and uploaded a video to Facebook. You can now add this update to your blog with the hopes in increasing exposure about the program and at the same time increase the reach of the update if they should Like or share it.
Maybe, ever since Facebook “officially” announced the use of hashtags on its’ platform, you’ve been using a dedicated hashtag for your business. For example, check out #TheEdgeCode. Now your readers can click on that hashtag and follow your previous updates using that hashtag.
See how much fun this can be?
What are your thoughts on this new feature?
